Refractories for the Glass Industry (Building Materials)
As the demand for glass varies across different industries, there is an increasing variety of glass types. The temperature in the glass melting tank changes significantly, leading to higher requirements for refractories. Refractories are required to have the following characteristics: high load softening temperature, Wear - resistant and erosion - resistant, resistance to alkali vapor corrosion, high thermal shock stability, low thermal conductivity, and no contamination to glass. The following are the material selection and technical key points for the main parts:
Application of Refractories in Different Parts of the Glass Furnace
Arch Roof
High - purity silica bricks (SiO₂≥96%)
pool wall
Fused zirconia - corundum bricks(AZS, with ZrO₂ content of 33% - 41%).
Cooling Section/Ear Pool: Corundum bricks (α - β Al₂O₃) or dense zircon bricks.
Pool Bottom
Multi - layer composite (large clay bricks + zircon sand ramming material + wear - resistant layer of fused cast AZS bricks).
Forehearth
Shrink - free AZS - 41 bricks(for cover plates and side walls).
Charging Chamber
Shrink - free AZS - 41 bricks (thickened at corners) and large kaolin bricks can be used in the lower layer.
Silica bricks (in oxidizing atmosphere) or magnesia- chrome bricks (in reducing atmosphere), common clay bricks or spinel bricks are often used for checker bricks.
Breast Wall/Front Wall: Silica bricks or fused cast AZS - 33 bricks,Which need to resist alkali vapor and the wear of batch materials.
Reactive Alumina Powder、Calcined alumina powder、White fused alumina、Fused Calcium Aluminate Cement、High Alumina cement、Fused magnesia-alumina spinel AM65、Polycrystalline Composite Hollow Spheres、calcium hexaaluminate CA6、Fused Mullite、Sintered Mullite - bauxite。The above - mentioned raw materials of our company have been provided to and served multiple related enterprises.
